Secure check for LMS

The LMS needed an automated solution to verify files and links uploaded by users for malicious content. The challenge was to ensure that the verification process would be fast, accurate, scalable, and would not disrupt the user experience. Additionally, the solution had to be cloud-based and cost-effective to support ongoing platform growth.

An AWS-based application was developed to perform secure file and link verification:

• Cisco Secure Malware Analytics was integrated for file analysis.
• Cisco Umbrella was used to check the reputation of submitted links.
• A secure API was built to handle file submissions and to retrieve verification results.
• AWS services, including S3 for file storage, DynamoDB for result storage, and Secrets Manager for secure credential management, were used to build a scalable and secure backend.
• The system was designed to operate efficiently under a subscription model, optimizing costs.

The project successfully delivered a secure, cloud-based file and link verification system for the LMS. 95% of uploaded files are verified within 30 seconds, and results are easily accessible through secure API calls. The solution was seamlessly integrated into the customer’s existing system, strengthening the platform’s security by preventing the spread of malicious content. Built on cloud infrastructure, it offers a scalable, reliable foundation for future growth.
